WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP THE TEAM?: We are in DESPERATE need of parents who are willing to become officials at our off-site weekend meets. Without these officials, our team faces penalties at every meet (and we may not be allowed to enter meets in the future without having parents volunteer for these positions.) Stroke & Turn officials (also called an S&T, a standing up job) are the ones who help make sure the kids are following the stroke rules while they race. Administrative Officials (also called an AO, a sitting down job) review results and turn them over to the computer operator. A team of our size typically has 10-14 officials; we currently have zero.
There is a training on Saturday, October 14 in Pleasant Hill which hosts sessions for both the Stroke & Turn as well as Admin Official positions. All parents who attend the whole training (9am-4pm) will receive a $100 credit to your BAY account. To attend, you must RSVP for the clinic (details can be found here.) If you do sign up, please email Coach Marisa too!
Families also receive $100 credit for each full day of the off-site meet in which they officiate (that’s $200 for a 2 day weekend meet.) You are also welcome to donate your credit to offset a scholarship for a swimmer in need. We do not turn away any family to our team who can not afford to join our program.
We are hosting a meet in November and need 2-3 Admin Officials in order for the meet to run.
NEW TO THE TEAM?: Check out the “Parent Info” tab on the website! It is a great resource for all.
SAFE SPORT ZOOM TRAININGS: USA Swimming Safe Sport staff is hosting Zoom training for parents and minor athletes to assist clubs in completing the Training and Education requirement of the Safe Sport Club Recognition program. All participants will need to register to attend training. These trainings are a great way to reinforce safety within ALL youth sports organizations. There is ALWAYS time to make time for something as important as this!
